Mom's Rice Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
* 1/2 stick -
butter
* 1 quart - milk
* 1/2 cup - regular
rice
* 1 cup - salted water
* 3 - eggs (medium)
* 1/2 cup - sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon -
vanilla
* 1/2 cup - raisins
Directions
Pour rice into boiling water
(use large pot). Do not stir. Cook 7 minutes. Rice is slightly
done. Add milk and butter. Stir a little; bring to a boil.
Cover and cook slowly; lower heat. Cook for at least an
hour.
Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla.
Pour over cooked rice, stir slowly until rice starts to
thicken.
Add raisins. Serve with a
cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Cool keep in
refrigerator.
