Ice Box Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

* 1 cup - brown sugar
* 1 cup - white sugar
* 1 cup - Crisco
* 1/2 teaspoon - soda
* 1/2 teaspoon - baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon - salt
* 3 cups - flour
* 1 teaspoon - vanilla
* 2 - eggs

Directions

Cream sugar, Crisco, eggs, and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together (omit salt and soda if using Self-Rising flour). Combine dry and creamed ingredients. Separate into 4 parts. Roll into logs and cover with wax paper. FREEZE, or refrigerate.

Slice into 1/4" Slices. Bake at 375 degrees, 10-15 minutes.

This recipe comes from my Aunt Clara, sister to my Granny. They are both gone now, but I can see them riding, "Hell bent for leather!", across the hills in Milton, Tennessee.
