Hot Water Cornbread Recipe
Ingredients
* 4-5 cups - boiling
water
* 2 tablespoons - Tony Chacheres
Creole Seasoning (optional)
* 1 tablespoon - garlic
powder
* 1 cup - flour
(all-purpose)
* 4 cups - cornmeal
* 2 tablespoons - salt
Directions
Mix all dry ingredients
together. Slowly pour in boiling water till a very thick batter
forms. Set aside until cool enough to handle Scoop up by
spoonfuls and shape into patties. You can make them round and
push them into flatter patties. Drop into 3-4 inches hot oil
and fry till golden brown.
Drain on paper
toweling.
