Grits and Sauage Bake Recipe
Ingredients
* paprika
(optional)
* 4 eggs - large and
beaten
* 1/2 teaspoon - thyme
* 1/8 teaspoon - garlic
powder
* 1 cup - milk
* 4 cups - shredded chedder
cheese
* 1 1/4 cups - Grits
(uncooked)
* 4 cups - water
* 2 pounds - mild pork
sausage
Directions
Here is a recipe I think you
will enjoy, it is a great make ahead dish when you have company
or great to take to a brunch, coffee, etc.
Brown sausage, crumble, drain
and set aside. Cook grits in water according to package. Stir
cheese and next three ingredients into grits, until cheese is
melted. Add eggs and sausage, stirring well. Place in a 9"x13"
greased pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Let stand 5 minutes
before serving.
May make the day before and
refrigerate; let stand at room temperature 30 minutes before
baking. Leftovers are just as good reheated the next
day.
