Cheese and Onion Grits Recipe
Ingredients
* 1 cup - Grits
* 2 cups - water
* 1/4 cup - chopped
onion
* 2 teaspoons - instant chicken
bouillon
* 2 tablespoons -
butter
* 2-4 ounces - grated cheddar
cheese
* 1/4 cup - half & half
(optional)
Directions
Place grits in a bowl, cover
with water and stir. Skim off the chaff that rises to the top,
stir and skim again. Drain off water.
In a heavy bottomed sauce pan
combine 2 cups water, butter, chopped onion and instant chicken
bouillon, bring to a boil and add grits. Reduce heat to low and
cook covered 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once all the liquid has been
absorbed stir in cheese and half & half.
Serves 6
