Buttermilk Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

* 2-3 cups - buttermilk
* 1 - egg
* 3 tablespoons - baking powder
* 2 teaspoons - salt
* 1 cup - flour
* 2 cups - cornmeal

Directions

Mix all ingredients together. Pour into preheated iron skillet and bake at 350 degrees until the top is golden brown.

Tip: A cast iron skillet will give your cornbread a thick, crisp crust. I use an old tin skillet strictly for cornbread --- I never wash it, just wipe it out with a paper towel.
