Asparagus Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
* 1/2 cup - buttered bread
crumbs
* 3 teaspoons - chopped
pimento
* 1/2 can - english
peas
* 3 or 4 - hard boiled
eggs
* 1 can - asparagus
(cut)
Directions
Melt butter and add flour.
Gradually add milk & liquid. Blend.
Add cheese & salt. Cook
& stir constantly until cheese melts. Let sauce thicken.
Add pimiento.
Layer asparagus, sliced eggs,
peas, sauce & bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees till bubbly
(approx. 20 min).
CHEESE SAUCE:
1/2 cup - milk or evaporated
milk
1/2 cup - asparagus
liquid
3-4 tablespoons - flour
(rounded)
3-4 tablespoons -
butter
1/4 teaspoon - salt
1/2 cup - grated
